Robert Bischoff (film editor)

Robert William Bischoff (born January 28, 1899 in Denver , Colorado , † May 12, 1945 in Bethesda , Maryland ) was an American film editor .

Life

Robert Bischoff was an editor under contract with Fox Film Corporation from 1927 and initially edited a number of B-films . From 1939 he was also hired for larger film productions for 20th Century Fox , founded in 1935 , such as B. for the crime film Die Abenteuer des Sherlock Holmes ( The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes , 1939) with Basil Rathbone or the Tyrone Power films Treck nach Utah ( Brigham Young - Frontiersman , 1940), Imzeichen des Zorro ( The Mark of Zorro , 1940) and King of the Toreros ( Blood and Sand , 1941).

In 1943, Bischoff was appointed lieutenant in the US Navy , where he was responsible for the military's photo laboratory. Before he could return to film, he died in Bethesda , Maryland in 1945 . His grave is in Hollywood Forever Cemetery .
