history

Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery was established in 1899 on an area of approximately 40 hectares (100 acres ). In 1920 the entire site was bought by Paramount Studios and RKO Pictures . Due to mismanagement, the cemetery fell into disrepair at the end of the 20th century, and in some cases the sale of graves was even banned by the California government. In 1998, in bankruptcy proceedings, the cemetery was sold for $ 375,000 to Forever Enterprises , which renovated and renamed the cemetery. Since then, the ban on selling graves has also been lifted.
