Robert Cardenas Ruda

Robert Cardenas Ruda (born August 27, 1982 ) is a former German basketball player .

career

Cardenas Ruda, whose father comes from the Caribbean island of Cuba , was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt and moved with his family as a child, first to Leipzig and then to Oberhof . He started out skiing before he got into basketball.

At the beginning of the noughties , Cardenas Ruda made his debut in the second division team of TuS Jena , in 2006 he moved within the 2nd basketball division  to Mitteldeutscher BC , with whom he became champion of the 2nd division ProA in 2009 .

Darian Cardenas Ruda's older brother then played for the Saar-Palatinate Braves  (also 2nd Bundesliga ProA) from 2009 to 2012 , followed by an internal move to BV Chemnitz 99 in 2012 . In addition to his basketball career, Cardenas Ruda completed training as an advertising and media designer. In spring 2016 he ended his playing career. Together with his former teammate Fabian Zink from Jena, Cardenas Ruda founded a company in 2016 that offers player advice and placement services.
