Robert Dannemann

Robert Dannemann (born February 6, 1902 in Tungeln , † September 28, 1965 in London ) was a German politician of the FDP .

Life

Dannemann, who was a Protestant , was an agricultural councilor by profession. From 1949 he was director of the Weser-Ems Chamber of Agriculture. He was the son of DVP Reichstag MP Diedrich Dannemann .

On May 1, 1933 , Dannemann joined the NSDAP as a qualified farmer ( membership number 2.855.940).

Dannemann joined the FDP after the Second World War , was a community representative for them in Wardenburg and also belonged to the district council of the district of Oldenburg , where he was also deputy district administrator.

In the first federal election in 1949 he was elected directly to parliament for the FDP in the constituency of Oldenburg - Ammerland . He also won the constituency in 1953 on the basis of an electoral agreement with the CDU and DP , which refrained from nominating their own candidates. He was a member of parliament until his resignation due to his appointment as President of the Lower Saxony administrative district of Oldenburg on July 1, 1955. On September 28, 1965, he died on a business trip from complications from a heart failure at the University Hospital in London. Eduard Haßkamp became his successor as administrative president . From 1961 to 1965 he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .

The "Robert-Dannemann-Schule" as well as the "Dannemann-Forum" in Westerstede and the "Robert-Dannemann-Weg" in Tungeln are named after Dannemann.
