Robert Desmettre (born August 5, 1901 in Neuville-en-Ferrain , Nord Département , France, † March 6, 1936 in Tourcoing , Nord Département, France) was a French water polo player.
Delberghe joined Paul Dujardin , Georges Rigal , Noël Delberghe , Henri Padou , Albert Deborgies and Albert Mayaud at the Olympic water polo tournament in Paris in 1924, where he won the gold medal. He was one of the most successful goalscorers for the French Olympic team in water polo. In the 3: 1 against the USA in the first round he scored two goals, in the 6: 3 against the Netherlands in the quarter-finals even three. He also scored two goals each in the 4-2 win over Sweden in the semi-finals and in the 3-0 win over Belgium in the final.
