Robert Didion
Robert Didion (born March 12, 1956 in Bexbach ; † November 25, 2001 in Bad Wildungen ) was a German musicologist , librarian and opera researcher .
Career
Didion completed his studies in musicology, German studies and medieval and modern history at the universities of Saarbrücken and Heidelberg and then worked primarily as an opera researcher and editor. From 1981 to 1992 he was responsible for the indexing and cataloging of the music manuscripts in the city and university library in Frankfurt am Main together with Joachim Schlichte . In particular with the catalog of the Frankfurt Opera Collection, which is comprehensively described, Didion has set standards for the development of such holdings.
From 1994 to 1998 he was head of the stage department and editor at Ricordi publishing house in Munich.
From 1999 until his death after a serious illness, he was editor of stage works at Bärenreiter-Verlag in Kassel.
