Robert Everard Woodson

Robert Everard Woodson (born April 28, 1904 in St. Louis , Missouri , † November 6, 1963 ) was an American botanist . Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Woodson ". The abbreviation “ Woods. " in use.

Live and act

Woodson was the curator of the herbarium at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis. He contributed to the work "North American Flora" by Nathaniel Lord Britton the description of the plant family Apocynaceae in volume 29 (2).

Honor taxon

The genus Woodsonia L.H.Bailey from the palm family (Arecaceae) was named in his honor. The plant genus Allowoodsonia Markgr. from the dog poison family (Apocynaceae) is named after him.
