Robert James Foth (born July 3, 1958 in Buffalo ) is a former American marksman .

Robert Foth took part in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul and 1992 in Barcelona part. In 1988 he reached the final with the air rifle, which he finished in fourth place with 692.5 points and thus just missed winning a medal. Four years later he was in the final again and this time came seventh. In addition, he competed with the small-bore rifle in the three-position battle, in which he also reached the final. He scored 1266.6 points, which he won behind Hratschja Petikjan and before Ryōhei Koba the silver medal.

At world championships in 1986 Foth first came second with the air rifle team in Suhl , before becoming world champion with them in Budapest the following year . In 1990 he won the silver medal in the three-position battle with the small bore, while he won bronze in the standing position. In the team competition of the three-position fight with the standard rifle, he secured the title in 1994 in Milan and 1998 in Barcelona. Foth took part in the Pan American Games three times and won a total of 17 medals, seven of which were gold. In 1987 he succeeded in Indianapolis with the team in the three-position battle with the small-caliber, a success that he repeated both in 1991 in Havana and in 1995 in Mar del Plata . In 1991 he also took first place with the small bore in the standing position in the individual and in the lying position with the team. In 1995, two more titles followed with the standard rifle team.

After his active career, Foth held various positions at the national shooting association USA Shooting .
