Ryōhei Koba ( Japanese 木 場 良 平 , Koba Ryōhei ; born December 13, 1962 in Kagoshima ) is a former Japanese marksman .

Ryōhei Koba took part in the Olympic Games three times . At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , he finished 18th with 578 points in the competition with the air rifle. With the small caliber he finished the competition in the three-position battle with 1137 points in 25th place. Four years later , he competed in three disciplines in Seoul : in addition to the two competitions in which he had already taken part in 1984, he also competed with the small caliber in a prone position. In this competition he did not get beyond the 51st place. With the air rifle he improved to twelfth place with 589 points, while in the three-position battle with the small caliber he reached 28th place with 1161 points. The Games in 1992 in Barcelona concluded Koba with the air gun on rank 27.. In the competition in the prone position with the small caliber he was again far away from the medal ranks with 588 points as 43rd. Koba finally competed in his best Olympic competition in a three-position battle with the small caliber. He finished the qualification with 1171 points in second place behind Juha Hirvi and then achieved the fifth-best result among the eight finalists in the final with 94.9 points. With this he overtook Hirvi, but Hratschja Petikjan and Robert Foth pulled past him, so that Koba ultimately won the bronze medal.

Koba did not win a medal at world championships , but was very successful on a continental level. In 1991 in Beijing he was Asian champion in the individual competitions with both the air rifle and the small-bore rifle in the three-position fight and in the prone position. At the Asian Games he won the silver medal with the air rifle team in New Delhi in 1982 . In 1986 he took third place with her in Seoul, which he also achieved in team competitions with the small caliber in the prone position and in the three-position fight. In the individual of the three-position fight, he secured the gold medal. Four years later , Koba again won bronze in the two team disciplines with the small caliber in Beijing, while this time he took first place with the air rifle team. He finished the individual competition with the air rifle in third place, with the small caliber in the three-position competition he was second. He won the title in the lying position. In 1994 in Hiroshima he won another gold medal with the small bore in the standing position. In addition, he took second place in the team competitions with the air rifle and the small caliber in the prone position. Koba won his last medal at the Asian Games in 1998 in Bangkok with bronze in the team competition with the air rifle.
