Robert Früstük (born July 27, 1973 ) is a former Austrian football player and now coach .

Career

As a player

society

Früstük began his career at ESV Knittelfeld . For the 1990/91 season he moved to DSV Alpine . In July 1992 he made his debut for the professionals of the club, which now appears as DSV Leoben , in the 2nd division when he was substituted on the first day of the 1992/93 season against WSG Wattens in the half-time break for Radovan Krstović . In November 1992 he scored his first goal in the second-highest Austrian division in a 3-2 win against SV Oberwart . As third in the table of the 2nd division they took part in the “middle playoff” after the winter break in that season, although being fifth in the table they clearly failed to move up to the 1st division. In his first season with the professionals from Leoben, Früstük made 15 appearances in the 2nd division and 13 appearances in the playoff.

In the 1993/94 season he came to 28 second division appearances, in which he scored four goals. In that season, Leoben was tenth in the table and had nothing to do with promotion or relegation. In the 1994/95 season, Früstük played 15 games in the second-highest division; if he had only missed a suspended game in the first half of the season, he only made one appearance in the second half of the season. As in the previous season, the Styrians finished the season in tenth place in the table. In his fourth season as a professional at Leoben he came, as in the previous season, to 15 missions in which he was able to score a goal. For his club, the 1995/96 season was better than in the previous seasons, as they ended the season as fifth in the table in the upper half of the table. In the 1996/97 season Früstük was in 28 of 30 season games on the field and was able to score two goals. Leoben ended that season in twelfth place in the second-highest division, but they were 20 points short of relegation.

In the 1997/98 season he came to 25 second division appearances, in which he was able to achieve eight goals; He hadn't been able to score that many goals this season at that time. Together with Michael Rosenbichler, he was the DSV's most successful goalscorer that season. In March 1998 he even scored his first brace in his professional career in a 3-0 win against Wattens. Due to a league reform that relegated six clubs from the second division and one club had to play relegation, Leoben ended the season with two points ahead of relegation participants VSE St. Pölten in sixth place in the table. In the 1998/99 season Früstük was used in 30 games in the second division and scored six goals this season. In the new second division, in which only ten clubs participated from this season, Leoben finished eighth in the table.

In the 1999/2000 season, his prematurely last season with the Leobner, Früstük scored ten goals in 31 games and thus exceeded his number of goals from the 1997/98 season. With his ten goals, the midfielder was the most dangerous Leoben player that season, as in 1998. With Leoben he was able to become runner-up in the second division that season, but defeated champion VfB Admira Wacker Mödling eleven points.

After ten years at Leoben, Früstük moved to Bundesliga club SV Austria Salzburg for the 2000/01 season . He made his Bundesliga debut in July 2000 when he was in the starting line-up against SK Rapid Wien on the first day of that season . In September 2000 he scored his first goal in the top Austrian division in a 3-1 defeat against FK Austria Wien . By the end of the season he had 33 games in the Bundesliga, in which he scored three goals. By the winter break of the 2001/02 season, he completed another 19 games in the Bundesliga and made one goal. After one and a half years with Austria Salzburg, he moved to the second division club BSV Bad Bleiberg in January 2002 . With the Carinthians he played for promotion that season, in the 33rd round they had to give up the championship lead, but after only four points from the last four games five points were missing from the champions ASKÖ Pasching . By the end of the season, Früstük had played eleven second division games for Bad Bleiberg and scored one goal. Up to his departure in January 2003 there were 20 more appearances in the second division, in which he scored another goal.

After a year at Bad Bleiberg, he returned to league competitor DSV Leoben in January 2003. While the Carinthians had to go into relegation as the penultimate at the end of the season, he finished the 2002/03 season with Leoben as in 2000 as runner-up in the second division. However, this season too, with 13 points behind champions SV Mattersburg , they failed quite clearly in the promotion. By the end of the season he had played 13 games for Leoben, in which he did not score a goal. In his first full season after his return to Styria, he made 30 appearances in the second division and scored three goals. As sixth in the table, he placed with Leoben in the secured midfield in that season - on the relegation place they had 15 points ahead, on the promotion place 26 points behind. In the 2004/05 season Früstük was in 29 second division games for Leoben and scored two goals. Leoben finished the season in fifth place.

In the 2005/06 season he came to 26 second division appearances and scored five goals this season. Leoben ended the season again in midfield with sixth place in the table. The 2006/07 season was again more successful for Früstük and Leobner, they finished the season in third place, but they were 21 points behind the champions LASK . That season he played 31 games and scored three goals. In his last season as a professional, Früstük completed 24 games in the second division in the 2007/08 season, in which he remained without a goal. Between November and December 2007 he also briefly supported interim trainer Manfred Kohlbacher as assistant trainer.

After another five and a half years at Leoben, Früstük moved to the regional league team Grazer AK for the 2008/09 season . In his first season with the Grazers, he made 28 appearances in the Regionalliga Mitte , in which he scored five goals. In that season, the promotion failed only on the last day of the game, as the GAK could only win against FC Blau-Weiß Linz by one goal, while the direct competitor for promotion, TSV Hartberg , defeated SAK Klagenfurt 6-0 could. Thus, the Hartberger rose by two goals ahead of goal difference in the second division and thus the Grazer remained in the regional league, in which Früstük was supposed to play another ten games for the club until the winter break of the 2009/10 season.

After one and a half years in the Styrian capital, he moved to fifth-rate SV Lannach in January 2010 before ending his active career at the end of the 2009/10 season.

National team

Früstük played at least eleven times for the Austrian U-21 team between 1993 and 1994 .

As a trainer

After the end of his career, Früstük was coach of the fifth-class ESV Knittelfeld for the 2010/11 season , where he had also started his career. In the 2011/12 season he just missed promotion to the national league with Knittelfeld as runner-up in the Oberliga Nord behind FC Zeltweg .

In April 2013 he became the coach of the fourth-class FC Zeltweg. With only three points from eight games after the takeover of Früstük, Zeltweg had to relegate at the end of the 2012/13 season as bottom of the league. After a season in the major league, however, they were promoted back to the regional league in 2014. Both in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons you could achieve relegation.

For the 2016/17 season he was coach of the promoted SC Bruck / Mur . In March 2017, Bruck separated from Früstük, the club was in twelfth place in the table at that time. For the 2018/19 season he was coach of ESV Knittelfeld a second time.

Personal

His son Claudio (* 1997) also became a soccer player and played under his father at Zeltweg, Bruck and Knittelfeld.
