Robert Geiss (born January 29, 1964 in Cologne ) is a German entrepreneur and television actor .

Life

Geiss is the son of a fair outfitter . After completing secondary school , he got straight into the family business. In 1986 he and his brother Michael Geiss founded the sportswear company Uncle Sam GmbH , which offered fashion for bodybuilders . In 1994 he married the then fitness trainer Carmen Schmitz , with whom he has two daughters. A year later, he and his brother sold the Uncle Sam brand . For tax reasons, he then moved his main residence to Monaco . In 2004 his brother Michael Geiss bought the brand back, which is, however, operated by LicUS GmbH based in Norderstedt .

Since 2011, Robert Geiss and his family have played the leading roles in the television program Die Geissens - a terribly glamorous family that accompanies their lives. Since October 2015, he and his company Geiss TV GmbH have also produced the show, for which he is charging RTL II around 2.5 million euros per season.

At the beginning of March 2013, Geiss returned to the fashion business with the new Roberto Geissini brand . Another source of income for the family is the acquisition, renovation and resale of luxury real estate . Furthermore, Geiss opened a hotel complex in Grimaud near Saint Tropez on the Côte d'Azur in May 2015 with the Maison Prestige . In May 2013, together with his wife and the ghostwriter Andreas Hock, he published the autobiography Von nix geht nix , which made it onto the Spiegel bestseller list.

Robert and Carmen Geiss also advertised as advertising media , for example for Sonnenklar.TV . However, the travel broadcaster canceled this contract in January 2016 after Carmen Geiss showed herself unreasonable after a shit storm about the publication of vacation photos from a slum in Colombia on Facebook . From 2014 to 2016, the couple also participated in a Verivox advertising campaign . In spring 2015, Geiss advertised the investment fund Patriarch Classic Dividende 4 Plus A by Bernd Förtsch in advertisements in BILD with the motto “Zero interest - not with me!” The Stiftung Warentest advises private investors against buying it. At the end of 2016, the Förtschs Fund had raised 21.4 million euros, but posted a 7.2 percent loss. From the beginning of 2014 to the end of 2016, the fund did not generate any return.

According to Geiss, he has suffered from a gambling addiction in the past .
