Robert Grabski

Robert Grabski (born April 25, 1912 in Matzdorf / Upper Silesia , † December 24, 1990 in Herne ) was a German writer and publisher.

Life

Grabski was born the son of a master carpenter in Upper Silesia and wrote poetry as a schoolboy. After 1945 he founded a book publisher in Trieste . From 1952 he lived in Herne, where he ran a youth home until retirement.

In 1955 Grabski founded the literary quarterly magazine Das Boot . He was involved in the group 79th Literary Workshop Herne.

The city of Herne, where Grabski lived almost half his life, named Robert-Grabski-Strasse in Herne- Baukau after him on May 5, 1994 .
