Robert Kozánek

Robert Kozánek (born July 29, 1978 ) is a Czech musician. He plays the trombone and tenor horn and is the solo trombonist of the Czech Philharmonic .

Life

Kozánek achieved during his studies at the Conservatory in Kremsier with J. Kummer and afterwards at the Academy of Musical Arts in Prague with M. Hejda and J. Sušický Success in the music competitions Prague Spring 1997; Brno 1997; CIEM Geneva 1998; Gdańsk 1999. Twice he was a finalist in the national competition “Talent of the Year” (1999, 2001).

In 2002 he won 2nd prize in the international trombone competition in Markneukirchen and won a similar world competition on the South Korean island of Cheju . In 2003 he received the 2nd prize in Lieksa, Finland , a 1st prize was not awarded, and also won the Frank Smith Competition of the International Trumpet Association ITA in Helsinki .

In addition to his performances as a soloist, Robert Kozánek is also a chamber musician with BRASS 6 and folk musician with Gloria and Vlado Kumpan and his musicians . He also plays as a jazz musician with the F major jazz band, the Tequila jazz band and the Big Band Radio Prague.

The main focus of his work is in the symphony orchestra , since 2002 he has been the solo trombonist of the Czech Philharmonic in Prague. He also dedicates himself to teaching - in the academic year 2003 he became a specialist assistant at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno .
