Robert Kromm (born March 9, 1984 in Schwerin ) is a German national volleyball player .
Career
Robert Kromm began his career in his hometown at Schweriner SC . He later played in the youth team of VC Olympia Berlin . With the junior national team, he reached third place at the European Junior Championships in Poland in 2002 and eighth place at the Junior World Championships in Iran. In 2003 he came to SCC Berlin , with which he became German champion . In 2005 he went to Italy to join Cimone Modena . In 2006 he moved to Sempervolley Padua within the Italian league . With the senior national team , he finished ninth at the World Cup in Japan . In the 2007/08 season he played for his third Italian club Perugia Volley . Robert Kromm was part of the German team that came fifth at the 2007 European Championship in Russia . With the national team, he reached ninth place at the Olympic Games in Beijing in August 2008. He then moved back to Sempervolley Padua and in 2009 to Marmi Lanza Verona . In 2010 Robert Kromm moved to Russia to Ural Ufa , but returned to Verona in 2011. Since 2012 he has been playing again in Berlin with the German Master Berlin Recycling Volleys , with which he has won multiple German championships. In 2016, Kromm became German champions with the Berliners , won the DVV-Pokal and the CEV-Pokal and was voted Germany's volleyball player of the year . In the 2016/17 season he reached the DVV Cup final and became German champion again . In the following season, Berlin reached the quarter-finals of the DVV Cup and managed to defend the title in the Bundesliga . Kromm ended his career as a volleyball player after the season.
