Robert Luthardt

Robert Luthardt (March 3, 1917 - October 1, 1977 in San Diego , California ) was a production designer and art director .

Life

Luthardt began his career in film staff in 1961 as assistant to the art director on the set of Robert Mulligan's comedy film Ein Charming Hochstapler . Between 1962 and 1977 he worked as an art director on a number of Hollywood productions such as The Lucky One , A Man Is Hunted and Funny Girl . In the mid-1970s he worked as a production designer on, among others, Eine Frau sucht rot and Der Schmalspurschnüffler .

1967 he was for Billy Wilder's comedy The Fortune Cookie with Edward G. Boyle for the Oscar in the category Best Art Direction nominated, but the award went this year to the literary film Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? .
