Robert Mehl (architect)

Robert Carl-Leopold Mehl (born April 14, 1969 in Koblenz ) is a German architect , architectural photographer and journalist .

Professional background

Robert Mehl studied architecture with a focus on building history and monument preservation at RWTH Aachen University . After completing his architecture studies, Robert Mehl a. a. for Dieter Georg Baumewerd's architectural office in Münster , where he was involved in building the new Apostolic Nunciature in Berlin in 1999 . In 2000 he moved to the architecture office of Jürg Steiner , where he worked as an on-site architect on the redesign of the museums at Altena Castle .

In 2001 Robert Mehl professionalized his long-standing hobby to work as an architectural photographer and journalist. Since then he has regularly published photographs and specialist articles in various specialist journals. In addition, Robert Mehl works in the field of photogrammetry (measurement image photography ) for monument preservation.

From 2016-2018 Robert Mehl had a teaching position for architectural photography at the Technical University of Central Hesse in Gießen , and since 2018 he has been teaching architectural photography at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences .
