Cocoon Club
The Cocoon Club was a techno club in the Frankfurt district of Fechenheim . It accommodated around 1,500 visitors, had two restaurants, several lounges , bars and individual small “cocoons”, sofa niches set into the wall, some of which could be rented separately. The architecture and design of the club are worth mentioning, as are the Dream and Dare dance performances . It was closed on November 30, 2012.
history
Before the opening on July 18, 2004, the term Cocoon Club was known as a series of events in Frankfurt Club U60311 , which took place at regular intervals after the previous club, the Omen (formerly Vogue), had to close on October 18, 1998 due to the building being demolished. The club designed by the Wiesbaden designers 3deluxe in the so-called UFO building, a new commercial building by Dietz Joppien Architekten AG, allegedly cost a double-digit million amount and was financed, among other things, by a financier from Frankfurt and a German mortgage bank. At a derdiedas lecture at the BTU Cottbus on November 28, 2007, Andreas and Stephan Lauhoff from 3deluxe confirmed a budget of around ten million euros. Steve Dash's sound system cost 700,000 euros. On September 13, 2012, those responsible for the music club filed for bankruptcy at the Frankfurt district court. After eight years, the so-called Closing Party of the Frankfurt Cocoon Club took place on November 30, 2012.
On March 1, 2013, the moon13 opened as the successor to the Cocoon Club . The operator was Omnia Event Gastro GmbH. After several raids in which numerous violations of the law were found, the moon13 had to close again in May 2018.

Resident DJs included DJ Karotte , Sven Väth , Toni Rios and C-Rock . The guest DJs included artists from the techno , trance and house scene such as Richie Hawtin , Ricardo Villalobos , DJ Hell , Zombie Nation , Richard Bartz , Tiefschwarz , Turntablerocker , Matthias Vogt , Monika Kruse , Above & Beyond , Armin van Buuren and more. In its founding year 2004, as well as in 2005, 2006 and 2007, the club was voted the best techno club of the year by the music magazines Groove and Raveline . The club was open on Fridays and Saturdays.
Since the beginning of 2012, more trance has been added to the regular program for Fridays . Above & Beyond started in March 2012 , followed by Armin van Buuren in May, ATB in June and Markus Schulz in November 2012.
Others
In addition to the Cocoon Club itself with a 100 meter long 360 ° projection surface, the club also included the former restaurants of the house, the Lounge Club Micro and the Silk, which has become known as the “reclining restaurant” . Both restaurants were under the direction of chef Mario Lohninger and closed in mid-2012.
During the week, private company parties, presentations and concerts were held in the Cocoon Club.
There is a series of parties at Amnesia in Ibiza called Cocoon. These parties take place for three months in the summer and start with a big opening party. The Amnesia then transforms into the Cocoon Club Ibiza every Monday evening. There is a closing party at the end of the season.
The guest relations of the house were taken care of by Marlene Deluxe until 2010 .
