Robert Pötzsch

Robert Pötzsch (born February 13, 1972 in Berlin ) is a German local politician (UWG Waldkraiburg). Since 2014 he has been the first mayor of the Upper Bavarian city of Waldkraiburg .

Life

At the age of six he came to Waldkraiburg in 1978 and went to school there. After graduating from secondary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a baker. In the following years further qualifications as a master baker, business economist in the trade and nutritionist followed. Until 2013 he was a part-time specialist teacher for baker training at the state vocational school in Mühldorf .

Robert Pötzsch is married and has two children.

His cousin Ulrich Pötzsch is Lord Mayor of the Upper Franconian town of Selb .

politics

His political career began in 2013 when he joined the UWG Waldkraiburg . In the same year he was elected chairman of this electoral group. On October 25, 2013, the UWG Waldkraiburg nominated him as a candidate for the mayoral election in March 2014.

In the local elections on March 16, 2014, he prevailed in the first ballot with 50.62% against his competitors Harald Jungbauer (CSU, 37.75%) and Richard Fischer (SPD, 11.63%) and became the first mayor of the City of Waldkraiburg elected. When the district council election was held at the same time, it also moved into the district council of the Mühldorf am Inn district .
