Josef Kriegisch

Josef Kriegisch (born January 7, 1923 in Gröditz ; † March 24, 1984 in Waldkraiburg ) was a German lawyer and local politician ( SPD ).

Career

Kriegisch passed the matriculation examination at the grammar school in Freiwaldau in 1942 . He then served as a soldier in World War II and lost a leg in the 1943 Russian campaign. From the winter semester of 1943/44 he studied law and political science at the University of Vienna and graduated in 1946 with a doctorate.

Because of the death of his father and his mother's expulsion, he moved to Bavaria and was hired in December 1947 as deputy head of the district housing office in Wasserburg am Inn. From August 1962 he worked full-time for a Munich housing association.

In the local elections in 1948, he moved into the district assembly of the Wasserburg a.Inn district and was elected deputy district administrator in May 1948. On April 21, 1954, he replaced Willy Thieme as a member of the Bavarian State Parliament, to which he was a member until November 1966.

In 1961 the local SPD association in Rosenheim nominated him for the mayoral election , in which he was defeated by the CSU candidate Sepp Heindl . On March 13, 1966, he was elected First Mayor of Waldkraiburg. He remained in office until his death in 1984.

From 1962 to 1978 he was a member of the Bavarian Constitutional Court .
