Robert Pilchowski
Robert Pilchowski (born April 7, 1909 in Lucerne , † March 19, 1990 in Munich ) was a German writer.
Life
His father Erich Pilchowski was an officer, his mother a née Stocker. In 1950 he married Christine Thimig from Bremen, she was a daughter of the chamber actor Hermann Thimig , and has a son (Andreas) with her. From his first marriage to Marlene Klotz, who was a daughter of Maximilian Klotz, he brought two daughters (Sabine, Cornelia) with him.
After high school in Berlin-Spandau he was a tea and rubber planter in Java from 1929 to 1936 , real estate and finance broker from 1937 to 1941, during the Second World War Pilchowski was employed as a special leader in the office of the Association of Dutch-Indian Companies in Amsterdam .
From 1947 he lived as a freelance writer in Germany. His hobbies were sports and languages: English, Dutch, French.
The now forgotten writer wrote mostly romance and social novels for Heyne in the 1950s and 1960s , which formed the basis for the general series there .
Impact history
Some of Pilchowski's books were made into films, including a homosexual-themed film that was made in collaboration with Felix Lützkendorf and published in 1957 under the title Anders als du und ich (§ 175) . Another film based on a Pilchowski book is Beloved Corinna , made into a film in 1956 by Eduard von Borsody with Hans Söhnker and Klaus Kinski . Pilchowski's paperback editions at Heyne were partly designed by the well-known film poster artist of the 50s and 60s, Theo Bleser .
