Robert Strobl (politician)

Robert Strobl (born February 1, 1933 in Kirchbichl ; † January 24, 2009 in Wiener Neustadt ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and official of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). Strobl was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1986 to 1996 .

Strobl attended a commercial school after compulsory school and was an employee of the ÖBB between 1951 and 1993. He also attended the Social Academy between 1957 and 1958.

From a political point of view, Strobl was active as a local councilor in Wörgl between 1974 and 1983 and from 1980 a member of the state party executive of the SPÖ Tirol . In 1985 he was elected district chairman of the SPÖ Kufstein and from 1974 to 1986 he held the office of vice-president of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees for Tyrol. He also worked from 1974 to 1990 and from 1984 was Vice Chairman of the Austrian Railway Workers Union . From 1964 to 1973 Strobl was also a member of the Personnel Committee of the Federal Railway Directorate Innsbruck and represented the SPÖ between January 1, 1986 and January 14, 1996 as a member of the National Council.
