Robert Zimmermann (born May 21, 1963 in Gera ) is a former German soccer player.
Athletic career
At the beginning of his career, Robby Zimmermann played in the youth team at BSG Wismut Gera . In 1977 he was delegated to the focus club of the Gera district , FC Carl Zeiss Jena . In the league he made his debut on the 9th matchday of the 1982/83 season in the 2-1 win of the FCC in the home game against SG Dynamo Dresden . Up to his departure from Jena, where he was temporarily used in the second team in the league or district league , Zimmermann scored eight goals for the Jenaer in 94 games in the top division of the GDR . On August 27, 1986, he played a match for the Olympic team in a friendly in Hoyerswerda against Poland (1: 1), after which the season in the club kit had started well with two wins in the first two point games and one goal for him.
In the Bundesliga season 1990/91 he was under contract with 1. FC Kaiserslautern , for which the offensive player played in a first division in that season and won the German championship with the Palatinate . Then he was active for three years at KSV Hessen Kassel in the third-class amateur league . In the 1993/94 season he was promoted to the southern season of the re-introduced regional league with the traditional Hessian club .
