Puķītis started in Dresden in February 2011 for the first time in the Short Track World Cup and finished 34th over 500 m and 31st place over 1500 m. At the Junior World Championships 2011 in Courmayeur he achieved the 47th place in the all-around and at the Junior World Championships in Melbourne in 2012 the 21st place in the all- around . In the 2012/13 season he was 16th at the 2013 European Championships in Malmö , 17th at the Junior World Championships in Warsaw and 37th at the 2013 World Championships in Budapest . In the following year he was eighth in the all- around at the European Championships in Dresden and achieved 15th place over 1500 m in his first Olympic participation in Sochi . At the beginning of March 2014 he came 17th in the relay and in the all- around at the Junior World Championships in Erzurum . In the 2014/15 season he achieved his only top ten placements in the World Cup in Erzurum with places ten and nine over 1000 m and 18th place overall at the end of the season. At the 2015 European Championships in Dordrecht , he came in 28th place and at the 2015 World Championships in Moscow, he came in 13th place in the all-around competition. The following year he won 17th place in the all- around at the World Championships in Seoul . In his last active season 2017/18, he won the bronze medal in the 1000 m at the 2018 European Championships in Dresden. In addition, he was there with three seventh places, seventh in the all-around competition. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he took 11th place over 1000 m and 1500 m.
