Robin Gray (born August 9, 1976 in Hamburg ) is a former German basketball player .

Career

Gray played at TS Schenefeld and then moved to the youth and men's area of SC Rist Wedel . In 1995 he reached the side of Jef Tomesch and others in the round of the last four teams in the German A-Youth Championship. In Wedel, players like Marvin Willoughby , Cecil Egwuatu and, as in the youth, Tomesch were among his team-mates in the 2nd basketball league . In 1997, Gray, whose strengths included a quick first step, moved to Bundesliga club Steiner Bayreuth and in 1999 to the newly founded Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt . With the Skyliners he was able to win the cup in 2000. During the 2000/2001 season, a knee injury prevented him from playing for a long time, so that in 2001 he moved to league rivals Avitos Giessen . From 2003 to 2005 he played for Uudenkaupungin Korihait in Finland. After this time he turned his back on professional sport and finished his studies in political science in Freiburg. In addition to his work as a PR trainee at an energy supply company, he also ended his playing career at the local second division USC Freiburg . In July 2007 he finally ended his career when he terminated his contract, which was valid until May 2008, due to differences with the club management that could not be resolved and for personal reasons. He then worked in public relations for the energy supplier in Freiburg, and later he worked for companies as managing director in the same branch of industry.

Gray was also part of the extended squad of the German national team from 1999 to 2001. However, it was only used in 1999.
