action

After the death of King Henry of England, the expected amnesty did not materialize, so that Robin Hood, the prince and ruler of Sherwood, fell out of favor at court and hoped for the return of Richard the Lionhearted. Many people joined him , dissatisfied with their situation and the informants everywhere, expect a freer life. Among the new followers are William the Red, the youngest son of Sir Guido Gamwel, and Alan Clare, a nobleman and excellent fighter. The men succeed in a series of coups to the detriment of Elwin of Nottingham, with whom many still have an account open and who tries to gain more and more influence with the ruler Johann. He allies himself with Count Goodman and Sir Tristan von Galboroung, which puts Robin Hood in serious trouble. Isabella, who was promised to Alan, is also included in his plans by her father Elwin. The united armed forces also represent a problem for the returning Richard the Lionheart, which Robin Hood can solve in favor of Henry through the intervention of his men. A general amnesty now allows everyone to continue to live as free people; Robin can also marry Anna, Alan Clare's sister, who himself marries the beautiful Isabella.

criticism

  • The Protestant film observer drew the following conclusion: “Seldom weak Italian coat and epee film in color and on widescreen about the legendary English folk hero, who again fights at the side of Richard the Lionheart. Any recommendation would be an empty promise. "
