The Skilled Park is a rugby - and football stadium in Robina , a suburb of the Australian city of Gold Coast in Queensland . Construction began in 2006 and was completed in February 2008. It is mainly used as the venue for the Gold Coast Titans rugby team . Since the 2009/10 season, the newly founded football club Gold Coast United has also played its games in the Skilled Park. In 2012, Gold Coast United was withdrawn from its license due to several rule violations against the guidelines of the A-League and the club thus dissolved.
The stadium is kind of a smaller version of the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane and was also designed by the same company. The project was funded by the Queensland state government.
During the Rugby League World Cup 2008 , two games were played in the Skilled Park.
