The Rochus and Beatrice Mummert Foundation is a non-independent foundation that has been administered by the Robert Bosch Foundation since December 1, 2007 and is based in Stuttgart . The foundation awards grants to excellent students of economics and engineering from Central and Southeastern Europe at a German university. The forerunner was the Beatrice and Rochus Mummert Foundation founded in 2001 by Rochus Mummert and his wife Beatrice .

Foundation purpose

The aim of the foundation is to promote young Eastern European executives in economics and engineering up to a master’s degree . The foundation wants to train excellent managers who make their home companies competitive and thereby contribute to prosperity and economic stability in their home countries. This promotes political security in Eastern Europe . Anyone who has ever studied in Germany and felt comfortable there will continue to contribute to deepening relations with Germany in their home country, so that the respective countries move closer together.

The scholarship

The foundation sees its task in developing the potential of its scholarship holders. To this end, the scholarship holders have access to a support program to accompany their studies (e.g. in the form of various seminars ). The foundation would like to support Central and Southeastern Europe in its economic catching-up process with excellently trained young executives. The scholarship holders are looked after by a sponsor, a mentor from the board of the Mummert Foundation, a liaison lecturer and two employees of the foundation.

The applicants

The foundation is aimed at high-performing, socially committed and talented students in economics and engineering who are in their final year of their bachelor’s degree or who already have their bachelor’s degree. Those interested in applying for a scholarship must come from one of the following countries: Bulgaria , Estonia , Croatia , Latvia , Lithuania , Montenegro , Poland , Romania , Serbia , Slovakia , Slovenia , the Czech Republic and Hungary . The scholarship holders should show a high degree of initiative and work for the political and economic development of their country.

Selection criteria

The scholarship holders are selected according to the following criteria:

  • very good academic performance
  • very good knowledge of German
  • Community spirit and willingness to take on social responsibility
  • Willingness to return to your home country after graduation and to contribute to its development there
