people

Yaeko Mitamura ( 三 田村 八 重 子 , Mitamura Yaeko )
Yaeko, called by everyone just Yakko ( や っ こ ), is a 17-year-old girl and half-orphan. She lives with her father in Tokyo and runs a small okonomiyaki restaurant there called Mambo with him . Since she works in the restaurant during the day, she goes to evening school. She is an open, honest, sometimes a little naive person, which is why she is liked by (almost everyone). Your best friend is Isuzu.
Shigemaro Mitamura ( 三 田村 し げ ま ろ , Mitamura Shigemaro )
Shigemaro, called Shige by his friends, is Yakko's single father and the owner and chef of the Mambo restaurant. On the one hand he is a strict and old-fashioned father, especially when it comes to dealing with men, on the other hand he is also a generous person. He loves Hashizo like his own grandson. Shige likes Japanese folk music ( enka ) and has acted in classical theater. He doesn't like the rock music and the band members of "BEE HIVE".
Joe Katō ( 加藤 剛 , Katō Gō )
Joe is a 20 year old student and Hashizo’s big brother. He has been raising his half-brother alone since he was born, as his father was killed in a car accident and Hashizō's mother lives in Paris. He founded the band "BEE HIVE" with his best friend Sammy. He is the singer and songwriter of the rock band and next to Sammy the absolute heartthrob. He falls in love with Yakko, but has difficulties with her father, who doesn't like him because of his looks.
Hashizō Katō ( 加藤 橋 蔵 , Katō Hashizō )
Four-year-old Hashizō is Joe's little brother. He lives in Tokyo with his half-brother Joe in a small apartment. Since Joe has a lot to do, Hashizō is often alone with his cat Juliano, who can speak. When Hashizo goes into town without his brother's knowledge, he meets Yakko. Yakko takes the child and cat to her father's restaurant, where they have been regulars ever since. Hashizō's greatest wish is that Joe and Yakko get married and that she becomes his new mother.
Juliano ( ジ ュ リ ア ー ノ , Juriāno )
Juliano is Hashizo's (fat) cat and best friend. Apart from Yakko, he's an absolute misogynist. He was found on the street as a cub by Joe and later taken in by him and Hashizō. Juliano loves Yakko's father's okonomiyaki steaks.
Sammy Okawa ( 大川 里 美 , Ōkawa Satomi )
Like Joe, Sammy is a 20 year old student and is the keyboardist and composer for the band "BEE HIVE". He comes from a very rich family and lives alone in a huge house in which he has his own music room. He is initially in love with Yakko and therefore often argues with Joe.
Meiko Kajiwara ( 梶 原 芽 衣 子 , Kajiwara Meiko )
Meiko is an 18 year old spoiled girl from a rich family. Her father is a business partner of Sammy's father. She is crazy about Sammy from the start and would do anything to win his heart over. At first she is very jealous of Yakko because Sammy has a crush on her, but later becomes friends with her.
