The Rockefeller Township is a township in Northumberland County in Pennsylvania , United States . At the time of the United States Census 2010 , there were 2,273 people living here, up from 2,221 in 2000.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the township has an area of ​​53.4 km 2 , all of which is land. The shape of the township is reminiscent of an upside-down L or a one.

The natural border in the south is formed by Little Mountain . In the north, these are the hills that accompanied Shamokin Creek on the south side of its course, with this body of water flowing westward outside the township to its confluence with the Susquehanna River . The township lies entirely in the catchment area of ​​this river. The township is drained by the Little Shamokin Creek , which rises in the south of the Shamokin Township and flows through the Irish Valley into the Rockefeller Township. The creek then turns northward until it meets the confluence with Shamokin Creek at Sunbury .

The township is sparsely populated and the residents' houses are spread across the entire township. Lantz is a scattered settlement in the northwest of the township, and Wolf's Crossroads is in the central north. About three kilometers east-southeast of it is Seven Points and in the southwest of the township Augustaville .

Demographics

At the time of the United States Census 2000, Rockefeller Township was inhabited by 2,221 people. The population density was 41.6 people per km ². There were 868 housing units at an average of 16.2 per km ².
