Rodin Quartet
The Rodin Quartet (named after the sculptor Auguste Rodin ) is a German string quartet . The members studied at the Munich Music Academy and have been playing in the current line-up since 1993. The quartet often deals with works outside the standard repertoire, e.g. B. with the string quartets by Ignaz , Vinzenz and Franz Lachner or music from Theresienstadt with works by Gideon Klein , Hans Krása and Viktor Ullmann .
Since 1997 the ensemble in Munich has had its own concert series with around five concerts per year, initially in the Carl Orff Hall ( Gasteig ), and since 2000/2001 in the Max Joseph Hall of the Munich Residence . In this context, the musicians played several cycles such as all Beethoven quartets, all (great) Mozart quartets, all Schumann quartets, all Mendelssohn quartets and, in the 2008/2009 season, all Schubert quartets.
The quartet played and continues to play with well-known soloists such as Sharon Kam , Siegfried Palm , Hariolf Schlichtig , Eduard Brunner , Christoph Hartmann , Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy and Maurizio Baglini .
