Rodolfo Collazo

Rodolfo Collazo Tourn (born April 26, 1983 in Rosario ) is a Uruguayan rower .

Career

The 1.77 meter tall athlete, who lives in Colonia, belongs to the Colonia Rowing Club and is studying sports education at the Instituto de la Asociación Cristiana de Jóvenes . In 2002 Collazo was Uruguayan champion in two with Andrés Medina . At the South American Games in 2002 in a foursome alongside Oscar Medina , Leandro Salvagno and Rúben Scarpati, as well as at the Pan American Games of the following year, he was silver medalist. He then took part in the 2004 Summer Olympics and reached there with Joe Reboledo in 18th place in the lightweight double scull . At the South American Games in Buenos Aires in 2006 , he won the gold medal in a foursome with Emiliano Dumestre , Ángel García and Joe Reboledo. With the latter, he also secured the silver medal in two. There was also bronze with Salvagno , Anchieri and Bouvier in the boat.

After the Uruguayan team at the 2007 Pan American Games was a member, he also scored 2008 on the Uruguayan team in Beijing and took there on the side of Javier García's part in the race and was 15th in 2010 in the Colombian Medellin he won in South America playing again gold in the pairs with Emiliano Dumestre and silver in the foursome. When he participated in the Pan American Games in 2011 , he was denied a medal win. Collazo was also in the Uruguayan squad for the 2012 Summer Olympics . There he started with Emiliano Dumestre in the lightweight double sculls, reached the C-final and finished in 16th place . At these games, Collazo was the flag bearer of Uruguay. He took part with the Uruguayan team in the Pan American Games 2015 in Toronto and finished 6th.

Collazo has also worked in a commercial for the telecommunications company Ancel.

Awards

As part of the honors of the best Uruguayan athletes of the period 2009-2010 (“Deportista del Año”), he was named the best athlete of 2010 in the rowing category by the Comité Olímpico Uruguayo in the Teatro Solís on March 28, 2011 together with Emiliano Dumestre " excellent.
