Roger MacDougall

Roger MacDougall (born August 2, 1910 in Glasgow , † May 27, 1993 in Northwood, England ) was a Scottish playwright and screenwriter.

Life

MacDougall was active as a playwright and screenwriter and from the mid-1930s to the early 1960s provided several templates and scripts for around 30 film and television productions. Several of his plays were filmed.

In 1953 he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis . In the course of the illness he developed his own diet plan, which had a certain social influence and, according to his own statements, led to an improvement in his condition. At the time of his illness he was a professor at the University of Southern California in the field of theater.

At the 1953 Academy Awards , MacDougall was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Adapted Screenplay category, along with John Dighton and Alexander Mackendrick for their work on The Man in the White Suit .
