Roger Wortmann

Roger Wortmann , (born November 25, 1968 in Salzburg as Rüdiger Wolfgang Schrattenecker ) is an Austrian writer, director, scenographer and on-air promotion specialist.

Life

Wortmann was born in Salzburg in 1968 and grew up in the city. There he graduated from the Academic Gymnasium with a high school diploma and completed training in marketing in which he worked from 1993. In 1996 he began studying at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and graduated in 2000 in the TV and film production master class. As a diploma thesis, he designed Enter4Elements for the State of Salzburg in the Austrian pavilion at Expo 2000 in Hanover.

Wortmann gained greater fame through the format development of the nine-part feature series “Interface” as part of the broadcast series “ Kunst-pieces ” of the ORF and its implementation as an author and director, as well as for the scenography of the annual presentation of the news / TV media publisher with the Title "Theseus Machine". Based on this, he was appointed head of the department for media aesthetics at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences on the IDTV course (later DTV / MMT), for which Wortmann developed the lecture module media aesthetics and visual communication.

Parallel to his academic teaching, he designed live events in Austria, Germany and the USA in cooperation with the production houses “Moonlake Entertainment” and “Aikon MT”, including “Human Waves”, a charity gala for the benefit of the “ Peter Ustinov Foundation ” the “ Wörthersee Festival 2004”. In 2007 he was involved in the conception of the F1-X entertainment park in Dubai.

From 2008 he created scripts for advertising clips for the energy drink manufacturer Red Bull . In September 2009 he was entrusted with setting up the OnAir Promotion department for the “Red Bull TV Global” project. Until October 2018 he acted as Executive Producer for the respective departments in the RB Mediahouse in Salzburg-Wals and in Santa Monica . During this time he was responsible for more than 6000 trailer productions, which were awarded two silver and one bronze “Promax-BDA Global Excellence Awards” and five gold, five silver and four bronze “Eyes and Ears of Europe Awards”.

In 2019 he published his political thriller Operation Babel .
