Roland Bässler (pathologist)
Roland Bässler (born September 26, 1926 in Niederwiesa ) is a German doctor and pathologist .
Academic career
After the Second World War he made up his Abitur. Then he began studying medicine at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . In 1948 he moved to the University of Leipzig . Eleven years later he followed Heinrich Bredt to Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . There he completed his habilitation in 1963 and six years later was first appointed adjunct professor and in 1970 scientific councilor and full professor. In 1972 he moved to Fulda and took over the position of chief physician at the Pathological Institute of the Fulda Clinic . He headed this until 1993.
