Roland Dahinden (* 1962 in Zug , Switzerland ) is a Swiss trombonist and composer.

Roland Dahinden studied trombone and composition at the Musikhochschule Graz ( Erich Kleinschuster and Georg Friedrich Haas ) at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Florence ( Vinko Globokar ) and at Wesleyan University , Connecticut, (with Anthony Braxton , Alvin Lucier ), where he Graduated with a Masters in 1994. Awards

Dahinden was artist in residence several times (1989 at the A. Guthry Art Center, Monahan, Ireland, and 1997/1998 at the intermedia Spritzenhaus, Hamburg). In 1990 he received the London grant from the Zug cultural foundation Landis & Gyr, Zug. In 2003 he was awarded the "Werkjahr" prize of the cultural department of the Canton of Zug.
