Roland Danguillaume

Roland Danguillaume (born August 24, 1925 in Tigery ; † November 3, 2018 ) was a French cyclist .

Athletic career

From 1947 to 1954 he was an independent and professional driver with the French teams Peugeot (until 1949) and La Perle-Hutchinson under contract. His greatest success was victory in the Tour de Calvados (with a stage win) in 1952. In total, he was able to record around 100 victories in his Palmares during his career. Including several cross-country races . In this discipline he also placed in the front twice at the national championships. In 1954 he started at the International Peace Race , was able to place himself in the top ten drivers several times at the stage finishes, but gave up the race.

Roland Danguillaume is the brother of Camille Danguillaume , Andre Danguillaume , Marcel Danguillaume and Jean Danguillaume , who were all cyclists. He is the uncle of Jean-Pierre Danguillaume , who won the International Peace Tour in 1969. His daughter married Jacques Botherel , who later became the world champion of amateurs . One of his four sons, Michel, was also active as a cyclist.
