Roland Gröbli

Roland Gröbli (born September 6, 1960 in Ennetmoos ) is a Swiss author , historian and journalist . He is considered a well-founded expert and biographer of Niklaus von Flüe .

Life

Gröbli grew up in Ennetmoos in the canton of Nidwalden and attended the Kollegium St. Fidelis high school in Stans . He studied German literature, general history and literature from 1981 to 1989 at the University of Zurich and from 1983 to 1984 at the Free University of Berlin . He received his doctorate in 1989 with a biography on Niklaus von Flüe . Gröbli is President of the Zurich regional group of the Association of Christian Entrepreneurs (VCU) and lives with his family in Dachsen , Canton of Zurich .

Gröbli worked as a freelance journalist from 1981 to 1989 and as editor of the Luzerner Neuste Nachrichten (LNN) from 1989 to 1992 . From 1992 to 1994 he worked in Santafé de Bogotá ( Colombia ) for a foundation as an international employee of Interteam , a Swiss voluntary aid organization and then until 1999 as managing director of the Swiss-Colombian Chamber of Commerce. He then returned to Switzerland and was Head of Department and Secretary General of the Swiss Center for Trade Promotion (OSEC) in Zurich in 1999/2000 . Since 2000 he has been working in the corporate development department at Georg Fischer AG in Schaffhausen , where he holds the position of Secretary General.

His dissertation The longing for the "unified being" appeared in several editions as a book and is considered a standard biographical work on Niklaus von Flüe .

Gröbli is a member of the board and president of the scientific advisory board of the sponsoring association "600 years of Niklaus von Flüe". In 2016, Gröbli produced the publications “Introduction to the life and work of Niklaus von Flüe” and “Introduction to the living culture of remembrance of Niklaus von Flüe today” on behalf of the sponsoring association “600 Years of Niklaus von Flüe”.
