Roland Richter (born August 9, 1963 in Salzburg ) is a former German politician ( CSU ) and was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

education and profession

Roland Richter grew up in Freilassing and attended grammar school in Laufen . He did his military service in Bad Reichenhall . This was followed by a degree in civil engineering and architecture in Munich . He finished his studies with a degree in engineering. As an architect, he took over his parents' engineering office based in Freilassing. Today he works in this office as managing director and leads the 30-man company, which has further branches in Passau and near Rosenheim . He is Roman Catholic and has two children.

Roland Richter joined the CSU in 1989. For his party, he has been a councilor in Freilassing and a district councilor in Berchtesgadener Land since 1996 . He was CSU district chairman from 2002 to 2011.

From October 2003 to September 2013 Roland Richter was a member of the state parliament . There he sat for his group as a member of the Committee on Economics, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology and the Committee on Universities, Research and Culture. In the Bavarian state elections in September 2008 , he managed to get back into parliament as a direct candidate for the constituency of Berchtesgadener Land ( constituency of Upper Bavaria ) despite the great loss of votes by the CSU .
