Roland Ziersch

Roland Ziersch (born June 18, 1904 in Rottach-Egern (Tegernsee), † April 22, 1969 in Munich ) was a German writer and journalist ( Münchner Merkur ).

In 1924 he graduated from the Wilhelmsgymnasium in Munich .

Ziersch received his doctorate in 1930 on the actress Charlotte Birch-Pfeiffer . In 1965 he was one of the first Munich writers to be awarded the Tukan Prize , which has since been awarded annually to the best new fiction publications in Munich .

Roland Ziersch was married to a daughter of the sinologist Erich Haenisch and the great-granddaughter of the local historian Theodor Zechlin .
