Rolf Friedrich Kirchem (born October 17, 1925 , † November 7, 2015 in Neumünster ) was a German medical officer.

Life

Kirchem came from the Rhineland . He began his military career as a medical officer candidate in the Navy and served as a ship doctor for an outpost flotilla during World War II . After the war, he trained as an internist and received his doctorate at the University of Cologne in 1952. Before working as a hospital director, he was a squadron doctor with the 1st Schnellbootgeschwader . In rank fleet doctor he was from 1973 to 1983 chief physician of the Military Hospital in Kiel in Kronshagen . As an admiralty , he was last from October 1, 1983 to March 31, 1986 chief physician at the Bundeswehr Hospital in Hamburg . Kirchem last lived in a retirement home in Neumünster. He died in November 2015 at the age of 90. His urn was buried at sea . His wife Lieselotte b. Goßmann had already died in May 2013. The marriage resulted in a son and a daughter.
