Rolf Schönberger

Rolf Schönberger (born October 25, 1954 in Günzburg ) is a German philosopher and university professor for the history of philosophy with a focus on the philosophy of the Middle Ages .

Life

After studying at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and graduating in 1979 with a Magister Artium , he worked with Robert Spaemann as an assistant at the Institute for Philosophy until his doctorate in 1983 . He completed his habilitation in 1990 on the subject of ad aliquid. Buridan's theory of relations in the context of his thinking and scholasticism . Now he has taken on several teaching positions and substitutions, for example at the University of Philosophy SJ, the University of Freiburg , the University of Munich and the Weingarten University of Education . Since 1996 he has held the chair for the history of philosophy with a focus on medieval philosophy at the University of Regensburg . From October 1, 1999 to September 30, 2001 he was dean of the Philosophical Faculty I. Since 2004 he has been a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences .

Schönberger has been a member of the University Council of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt since January 2012 .
