Roller hockey world championship 1953
The roller hockey world championship in 1953 was the ninth world championship in roller hockey . It took place in Geneva from May 29 to June 6, 1953 . The tournament was organized by the Federation Internationale de Patinage a Roulettes and was also the European roller hockey championship, despite the participation of Egypt and Brazil.
The 13 participating teams first played against each other in two groups. Then there was a final round. The top two in each group played against each other in a league system, while the others played against the other group who was placed equally.
46 games were played in which 282 goals were scored. The winner of the tournament was Italy. It was Italy's first title. For the Brazilians it was the first World Cup.
