Most of the residents work, buy and obtain services in other towns on the Palos Verdes peninsula . Rolling Hills consists of a single gated community .
The city has the character of a farm with large spaces between the houses and no traffic lights. The place borders on Rolling Hills Estates in the north and is enclosed in the other directions by Rancho Palos Verdes .
