Roman Gąsienica-Sieczka (born April 30, 1934 in Zakopane , † August 26, 2006 ibid) was a Polish ski jumper .

Career

Gąsienica-Sieczka is the son of former ski jumper and Olympian Stanisław and father of former Polish ski jumping champion Bartłomiej . In the course of his career he represented a total of four sports clubs from Zakopane , the longest he was at SKS Start Zakopane .

Gąsienica-Sieczka was a participant in the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo , where he took 25th place in the individual competition on the K-90 hill. In addition, he also took part in other international competitions such as the Swiss Jumper Tour .

While Gąsienica-Sieczka was able to win four national championship titles in the youth, he never took first place in the seniors. In 1956 and 1957, however, he was able to win the silver and bronze medals.

After a serious accident in Harrachov , as a result of which his foot had to be amputated, he ended his career.
