Roman Simon

Roman Simon (* 21st June 1974 in Berlin ) is a German politician of the CDU . He has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives since 2011 .

Life

After attending the St. Alfons Catholic School in Berlin-Marienfelde and graduating from the Goethe High School (Berlin-Lichterfelde) , he completed an apprenticeship as a banker, which he completed in 1996. He then did his military service from 1996 to 1997. In 1997 he began studying law at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 2003 to 2005 he was a trainee lawyer at the Higher Regional Court in Braunschweig . He also worked at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer , in the legal department of a bank in Berlin and in the legal department at the GdW Federal Association of German Housing and Real Estate Companies in Berlin. In 2005 he passed his second state examination with a focus on business law. Simon has been employed in the credit department of a bank in Berlin since 2005.

Simon's father was the CDU politician Heinz-Viktor Simon , who was also a member of the House of Representatives. Roman Simon has three children.

Political party

Simon joined the CDU in 1990 , was state chairman of the Berlin Schools Union from 1993 to 1996 , from 1996 to 1998 a member of the state board of the CDU Berlin , 1998 to 2009 treasurer of a local association of the CDU Tempelhof-Schöneberg , since 1999 district party delegate of the CDU Tempelhof-Schöneberg, from 1999 to 2001 and from 2003 to 2006 deputy district chairman of the Junge Union Tempelhof-Schöneberg, since 2000 regional party congress delegate for the CDU Tempelhof-Schöneberg and from 2006 to 2007 district chairman of the Junge Union Tempelhof-Schöneberg. Simon has been a member of the district executive committee of the CDU Tempelhof-Schöneberg since 2006 and chairman of the Friedenau local association of the CDU Tempelhof-Schöneberg.

MP

In the Berlin state election, 2011 Simon was born on 27 October 2011 on the constituency's Tempelhof-Schoeneberg 7 in the Berlin House of Representatives voted. As a direct candidate, he won the direct mandate with 46.6% of the votes. In the 17th legislative period he was a member of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Consumer Protection, Rules of Procedure and the Committee on Education, Youth and Family. He was also the youth and family policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives .

In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2016 , Simon was re-elected to parliament via the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district list. In the current legislative period he is a member of the committees for education, youth and family and for constitutional and legal matters, rules of procedure, consumer protection, and anti-discrimination. He is also the youth and family policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives .
