history

In 1968, the publisher Fritz Hodeige brought Gerd-Klaus Kaltenbrunner to the publishing house as an editor. This tried to align the house as a counterweight to the Suhrkamp Verlag liberal-conservative. Authors such as Ernst Topitsch , Alois Dempf , Hermann Lübbe , Arnold Künzli , Hans Sachsse , Hans Sedlmayr , Hans Lenk and others published from now on in Rombach. In 1972 Kaltenbrunner was fired.

The publishing program includes regionalia and scientific works. There is a close relationship with the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg , whose university papers are published. The publisher has worked with u. a. established in the Hofmannsthal yearbook as an important place for Hofmannsthal research. Several scientific series are published in-house such as Litterae , Scenae , Voces and Paradeigmata . With the Military History Research Office (MGFA), noteworthy military historical writings were created. In the online area z. B. the opera guide offered by the musicologists Attila Csampai and Dietmar Holland .
