Ron Dellow (born July 13, 1914 in Seaforth , † November 7, 2013 ) was an English football player and coach.

Athletic career

As a player, the striker Dellow began his professional career with the Blackburn Rovers , where he did not make the breakthrough. He later played briefly for Mansfield Town and Manchester City in the First Division , where he hardly got a chance due to injury. He then established himself with the third division team Tranmere Rovers . With the club he rose in 1938 to the Second Division , after the direct relegation he moved to Carlisle United . Interrupted by World War II , during which he served in the Royal Air Force , he was under contract with the club until 1947, but only made a handful of league appearances.

After the end of his active career, Dellow moved to the Netherlands , where he coached various clubs, especially in the second-highest division such as FC Volendam , Heracles Almelo or Helmond Sport . At FC Volendam, with whom he was promoted to the honor division , he discovered the talent of Arnold Mühren .
