Ronald Leigh-Hunt (born October 5, 1920 in London , † September 12, 2005 ) was a British actor .

Life

Ronald Leigh-Hunt received his acting training at the Italia Conti Stage Academy . For many years he played on various English-speaking stages, a. a. in London's West End.

He has also appeared in over 100 films and television productions since 1950. He starred in horror films such as Omen (alongside Gregory Peck ) and Frankenstein (with Patrick Bergin in the title role), in war films such as The Last Voyage of Bismarck to CS Forester , in dramas like Oscar Wilde (with Robert Morley in the title role), Le Mans (with Steve McQueen ) and Poor Rich Girl , a television biography about Woolworth's heiress Barbara Hutton (played by Farrah Fawcett ), thrillers like L - Der Lautlose (with Rod Taylor ), comedies like VIP (with James Robertson Justice and Leslie Phillips ) and period films such as The Messenger of God (on the history of Islam, with Anthony Quinn ) and Khartoum (with Laurence Olivier ).

Leigh-Hunt was best known in his homeland for his series roles. From 1956 to 1957 he played the legendary King Arthur in the adventure series The Adventures of Sir Lancelot and from 1968 to 1973 he played the lead role as Colonel Buchan in the family series The Freewheelers . He also took on guest roles in numerous television series such as General Hospital , Mit Schirm, Charme und Melone , Doctor Who and Remington Steele .
