Philippe Bear
Philippe Bär OSB (born July 29, 1928 in Manado , Dutch East Indies ; real life Ronald Bär) is Bishop Emeritus of Rotterdam and the Dutch Military Ordinary .
Life
Ronald Bear joined the Congregation of Benedictine at and received on 26 July 1959, the priestly ordination . Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Leges and auxiliary bishop in Rotterdam on January 15, 1982 .
The Bishop of Rotterdam Adrianus Johannes Simonis ordained him on 27 December of the same year Bishop ; Co-consecrators were Martien Antoon Jansen , emeritus bishop of Rotterdam, and Theodorus Henricus Johannes Zwartkruis , Bishop of Haarlem . His motto is Christo et ecclesiae ("Christ and the Church").
On November 22, 1982 he was appointed military vicar of the Dutch Military Vicariate and with the elevation to the diocese on July 21, 1986 he was raised to the position of first bishop of the military ordinariate. On October 19, 1983, he was appointed Bishop of Rotterdam. He resigned from his office on March 13, 1993.
