Rone (musician)

Rone (real name Erwan Castex ; born June 20, 1980 ) is a French musician and producer of electronic music .

Beginnings

Erwan Castex was born in Boulogne-Billancourt and grew up in Paris . His first EP "Bora" was released in 2008 by the French label InFiné. When the musician Agoria used this for his compilation, the electronic music scene became aware of Rone. In 2009 his first album "Spanish Breakfast" was released by the same label.

More albums and successes

In 2011 the second album Tohu Bohu followed . The Resident Advisor magazine rated it 4 out of 5 points. The most successful single of these is Bye Bye Macadam with over 25 million views on YouTube. The tracks Bye Bye Macadam , Let's Go and Parade were then used for remixes by Gabriel & Dresden , Juan Atkins , Chris Clark and Dominik Eulberg .

Two years later Rone contributed to the album Trouble Will Find Me by the American indie band The National . After his 2014 tour through the USA and Canada, Creatures Rones' third album came out in 2015 . The 12-track album was partially produced in collaboration with the Japanese jazz musician Toshinori Kondō .

When Jean-Michel Jarre had previously used two works by Rone for his compilation Infiné by JMJ , Rone worked on the album Electronica 2: The Heart of Noise in 2016 .
